Plymouth Secondary SEN Rowing Competition

Schools from across the Plymouth School Sports Partnership took part in an indoor rowing event on Tuesday 15th November at Woodlands School. Schools attending included, Longcause, Brook Green, Mill Ford, Woodlands and ACE. The event was aimed at students with Special Educational Needs and was designed to fit within the YST School Games framework as part of Project Ability. It was great to see such a good level of attendance and enthusiasm from those who took part. Each competitior was guaranteed 3 races with 2 seeding races and a final for each. Using seeding races to create fair finals allows the students to compete based on their ability, rather than just year group or disability. Medal winners were from Woodlands, Mill Ford, Longcause and Brook Green.
For those waiting for their turn on the machines, we had entertainment in the form of Wii games, and it was really nice to see all the students from the different schools positively interacting with each other.

The results and some more pictures of the day can be found in the News section of the Plymouth SSP website.
