June 27th saw SEN pupils from all across Devon coming to UCP Marjon Sport in Plymouth to compete in the Devon Summer Ability Games. Over 150 pupils from 10 schools came to compete in a range of sports including the indoor rowing event where 60 pupils battled it out for a medal.
The event was part of the School Games programme with backing from Sport England funding up to 18 similar festivals of sport in Devon. On the day and with a short time slot, racing consisted of two manic 1 minute sprints with the results from both races combined to give overall distance for each individual. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were awarded in each category.
